Andrey Doukhan describes himself as a post-surrealist.
Traveling from country to country, the former-USSR born artist
treads the waters of war-story enthusiast, medium of the art
gods, and man seeking out the fears and hopes of the human
condition. His paintings turn common experiences and feelings
into gentle reminders that life can be painful but beautiful.
Temptation
Moon Lovers
Even though he was connected to an underground
artists' movement in his youth, Doukhan still preferred the
stillness of museums to friends and often visited the Hermitage
and Military Medical Museums in what is now St. Petersburg,
Russia.
Lonelyness
Complicated premonition
In his adulthood, he lives between St. Petersburg,
London and Jerusalem and has had several exhibitions. Most
recently, he has shown at the Hotel du Raune in Genève,
Switzerland and in Lausanne, Switzerland at La galerie d'Etraz.
