I started doing performance art mixed with installation
('89-'94). They were mostly visual parodies of famous art
works. My piece, "Meat Diagnosis" was based on The
Ecstacy of St. Teresa, and works by Man Ray.
My work was documented along with works by J.G
Ballard, Noam Chomsky,
Annie Sprinkle and Bruce La Bruce in "Sensoria From Censorium",
published by
Mangajin Books, available at MOMA and other national galleries.
Some of these works were taken by my then dealer, Don Lake
of The Lake Gallery, to the Frankfurt Art Fair.
After this period, I concentrated on drawing, producing 6
large (4' x 4') graphite dog drawings. The show was titled
"Metaphor Kennel", and presented human behavior
in canine obedience classes.
I then decided to do a show of paintings of
mummified cats, which received mixed reactions. Some people
loved them (they all sold) and some people screamed at me
and ran out of the gallery.
My ambition was to remove content.
The past few years, I have tried to express myself entirely
by gesture and colour.
I believe my work to date shows my struggle and progress as
a painter.
I am seeking representation.
